A very tidy yacht, designed by Alan Buchanan, built by Shuttlewood of Pagglesham, Essex in 1965. This is a quality yacht by a very successful designer. Shuttlewoods was a small yard but produced some very nice quality work and this is a good example. 32′ x 24’6″wl x 9’2″ x 5’6″ With good beam for her length, good freeboard and some weight she is a comfortable, steady and predictable yacht with very respectable performance. Sailing a yacht like this can be a revelation to many owners who have never sailed a quality wooden yacht – you get the performance with comfort as well. Built to Lloyds 100A1, she is planked in 1″ mahogany on steamed rock elm timbers – always a sign of quality. 2.5 ton lead ballast keel, bolts last drawn in 2003. Teak deck laid over a ply sub deck. Varnished teak coach-roof and cock-pit coamings. Self draining cock-pit with bridge deck. Masthead sloop rig on deck stepped alloy mast. Stainess steel rigging. Self tailing winches. Roller headsail. Mainsail only 3 seasons, the other sails in excellent condition. Volvo 20hp diesel installed in 2000. 2 stainless steel fuel tanks. 5 berths. V-berths in the fore peak. Bulkhead to stbd heads with a basin over; port hanging lockers. Bulkhead to saloon cabin. The 2 bulkhead doors close off the heads to make a large athwartships ablutions compartment. Port and stbd settee berths. The stbd settee extends to make a double berth. The galley in the after port corner was rebuilt in 2004 and has a gas cooker and double stainless steel sinks. The chart table in the aft stbd corner extends under the bridge deck and the navigator has a seat facing aft with instruments all around. Stainless steel water tank. 6’4″ head-room in the saloon. Lots of good equipment incuding 2 GPS, life raft, autopilot, VHFDSC, Zodiac dinghy with outboard engine etc etc. This is a very nice quality yacht. Advancing years dictate sale. Not commissioned this season. Price reduced summer 09.
