Arden 4 LOA23’6″ x LWL 18’6″ x beam 7’3″ x draft 3’6″ Displacement 1.8tonne Nicely presented Fiberglass long keeled cruiser with good recentish sails (Facnor roller reefed genoa)a spinnaker and pole and a Volvo 7 HP diesel engine. Built as a cruiser suitable for Scotish waters she has a 55% ballast ratio and feels solid and predictable. The cockpit is self draining – aft of it is a good sized Lazarette locker, the sidedecks are generous and there are guard rails, forward a goodly sized CQR type anchor is ready to deploy on deck and a navel pipe supplies chain from below. Underneath the cockpit duckboards is the stainless inspection hatch . The saloon is comfortable with two settee berths, the chart table pulls out above the the starboard bunk. The saloon can be seperated from the galley and loo by dropping a heavy rolled up curtain. Forward of the saloon there are storage lockers to port – to starboard under an upholstered seat squab is the Jabsco Par sea toilet. Forward to port is the galley which includes a stainless steel sink with manually pumped water, and the single burner LPG stove. The forepeak is clean and tidy, the two mattreses could accomodate occasional guests but is a great storage area. The mainsail is by Jeckells in 1995, The Genoa (150%) is by Crusader in 2006 and at that time the Facnor reefing gear and new forestay were fitted . The current owner has replaced all of the boats acrylic windows and has had the topsides and deck painted (very smart); We think this is a very nice simple classic cruiser that would suit somebody starting out or perhaps downsizing. Ashore and under her winter covers she is half an hour by car from our office. Please call before travelling
