The C&C 39 is renowned as the best of the early C&C designs. The two Cs were for the last names of talented Canadian designers George Cuthbertson and George Cassian. Robert Perry commented on the C&C 39 in Sailing Magazine, “I fell in love with the C&C 39 immediately. This design remains today one of my all-time favorite production boat designs. To my eye there is not an ugly line on this entire design” The first 3 C&C 39s were completed in 1971 and two of them made their racing debut in the 1972 Southern Ocean Racing Conference where one of them took three class firsts. Built entirely by Hinterholler at Niagara Yachts on Lake Ontario, the C&C 39 has defined the term Racer/Cruiser and offers the comfort of a multi-berth passage-maker. Originally designed to be a medium to long distance racer, the C&C 39 is well suited to performance cruising. The under body design is a balanced spade rudder and fin keel combined with a large fore-triangle, features that make this a very powerful boat upwind. Dry and comfortable offshore it has the waterline and pointing ability to make high daily averages. The C&C 39 is a great performing yacht that is easily handled by a couple. The C&C 39 sleeps up to nine owners and guests. 2 in the V-berth cabin, 2 in the port quarter berth, 1 in the starboard quarter berth, 2 on the dinette settees, 1 in the port pilot berth and 1 in the starboard pilot berth. From the aft cockpit and down four steps you’ll find a single quarter berth to starboard and a larger double quarter berth to port. Moving forward is the spacious U-shaped galley to port and the navigation station to starboard. The navigation table also serves as a dinette with seats for and aft. Forward to port is the L-shaped settee with fold down table and pilot berth above and to starboard a straight settee with a pilot berth above. Moving forward to port is the large head with shower and to starboard is a large hanging locker. The V-berth is a full size double berth with a filler cushion. Swallow is a rare offering and a beautiful example of the C&C 39; she has been continually upgraded and maintained over the last 25 years by her experienced owner. Some of these upgrades include a new Yanmar 36 hp diesel with only 315 hours, Lewmar #54 self tailing primary winches and a distinctive red Awlgrip hull paint job. Swallow has just been listed and presents an exceptional value so call today for a boarding appointment. She will not be on the market for long…
