Half Moon is a ketch that was custom built on the island of Vinalhaven, Maine  in 1972.  She constructed of marine plywood sheathed in fiberglass over oak frames.  She is seaworthy and very well maintained.  She comes with all the equipment needed to immediately go cruising this summer.  She had a new main sail this year and her other sails are in very good condition.  Her owner just completed a cruise from Boston to Mount Desert Island without any problems.  She is in the water in Rockland, Maine, waiting for a new owner.  An inflatable dinghy with a 4HP outboard is included.   Offered at $5,900.  Just reduced from $8,500 because the seller has moved out of the area and is motivated to see her sold early this summer.   Specifications: LOA: 29′ Draft: 3′ 9″ Tiller steering.   Engine: Universal Atomic 4 gas, 30HP, 1972.  All seals replaced within the last few years.  The owner reports that the engine runs very well and provides a 5 knot cruising speed with a maximum speed of 7 knots.   Electrical: 12 volt system, fused. 10 Amp alternator on engine. 2 batteries with master switch control. Inverter.   Construction: Fiberglass over marine plywood.  Oak frames and backbone.  Deck is also fiberglass over plywood.  Heavily constructed with no known structural faults.  Spars are spruce, deck stepped.  Shoal keel with skeg.   Sails: Main sail (new this year). Mizzen (2009) Genoa and storm jib (both 2004, but in very good condition). All new halyards and sheets   Equipment: Handheld GPS, compass, search light, cruising charts of New England Coast, extra brand-new lines, 5 anchors, depth sounder, current flares, new life jackets, fire extinguishers, gasoline fume detector, boarding ladder, safety harness, dinghy with 4 HP Johnson outboard, dishes, pillows, cooking utensils, radar reflector, VHF radio, cockpit cushions, AM/FM/CD player, and more.   Accomodations: Sleeps  4 in one 7 foot v-berth forward and  2 single berths in the main cabin. Marine head, direct pump out. 4 year old Coleman propane cooker. Hand pump sink. Marine solid fuel heating stove.   Tanks: 15 gallon aluminum fuel tank.  Custom made, new this year.
