Double ender sloop.     Designed and built by M&B Nyberg, Luvia, Finland in 1974 to traditional local Finnish design with distinctive Scandinavian canoe stern. The hull cross-section shows it’s origins in the early Viking ships with a generous beam and full hard turn to the bilge to give ample hull form stability and the rudder hung on the stern post.   Length on deck                        27’ Lwl                                         22’ Beam                                      9’ Draft                                       3’8”   Clinker planked in Scandinavian pine (similar to larch) on ash frames, all copper fastened. Long external iron ballast keel. Ply deck, sheathed with an interesting lamination simulating a laid teak deck giving total water-tight integrity in a non-slip finish. Large mooring cleat on the fore deck with smaller cleats either side and aft. Twin chain rollers on the stemhead. Stainless steel pulpit, push-pit and stanchions with twin guard wires.   Varnished mahogany coach-roof coamings with fixed windows, grab rails each side and a modern aluminium hatch on the fwd end. 4 flexible vents on the roof.   Self-draining cock-pit well. Seats each side and bridge deck across the cabin entrance, all sheathed in the same material as the deck. Shallow varnished mahogany coamings keep the water away from the seats. Massive varnished tiller. Alluminium main sheet track across the cock-pit. Varnished mahogany sliding hatch to the cabin entrance.     Bermudian sloop rig on new 2008 varnished mast, stepped in a stainless steel shoe on the coach-roof deck sets 27 sq meters sail. Stainless steel standing rigging. Slab reefing boom, lazy jacks to the mainsail. Modern blocks on the main sheet tackle to the car on the cock-pit centre track. Mainsail Genoa on roller reefing gear.   Winches. Pair of Lewmar self-tailing cock-pit sheet winches             Beta BZ482 10hp diesel engine, installed new in 2002 Variprop feathering prop. 2x12v batteries Engine alternator + 2 solar panels. 60 litres fuel.   Accommodation 4 berths. Single berth to port in the fore cabin. Stowage shelf to stbd. Standing head-room under the fore hatch on the end of the coach-roof.   Next aft, heads compartment with door to stbd, Jabsco sea toilet. Large locker with shelves to port. Bulkhead to saloon cabin with wide port and stbd settee berths, lockers under the side decks behind. Drop leaf table supported off a vertical post.
