The Doug Peterson designed New York 40 is a boat that looks fast at the dock. The flush deck design with long overhangs was typical of the 70’s when these boats and the IOR held sway on the racecourses. Although the design is old, the speed is not, and NY 40’s are still known to compete with distinction. “Tatiana” could be converted easily into a fast offshore cruiser, and would make a superb boat for a “budget” circumnavigation to be undertaken at speed and with safety.
