“SNOW GOOSE” is a well equipped spacous trawler ready for extended cruising or living aboard. Upgrades and improvements to Snow Goose began with a major overhaul of both electrical systems in 2003, including custom Blue Seas panels and reconfiguration of the charging and storage arrangements. Installation of the NovaKool 8 cu ft refrigerator/freezer,operating on 12V or 120V completed the conversion to full shore power independence while cruising. With an 800 Ah main battery supplying the 12V refrigerator and all 120V loads via the Prosine 3.5 KW inverter, battery charging time is minimal. Two 75W solar panels have been demonstrated to provide net charging, while still carrying shipboard loads at anchor. A dedicated 12V sub-panel provides power to all fly bridge electronics. Engines and generator have been meticulously maintained. The stand-up engine room provides unparalleled access to both engines and auxiliary equipment. A separate, sound insulated machinery space houses the generator (in a sound shield), batteries, water pump, water heater and AC units. Through-hull valves and sea strainers for both engines, generator and air conditioner were replaced in 2008. One spare bow anchor is located on deck with rode and chain in the convenient deck locker. A third anchor is mounted on a bracket on the swim step ladder. An outboard motor bracket on the transom conveniently holds the dinghy motor for easy handling with the Nautical Structures davit on the sundeck roof. The electronics have been updated in a professional installation, including NMEA interfaced radar/plotter, GPS and Autopilot. The flybridge also has VHF with ruggedized MORAD antenna and a loudhailer with automatic fog signaling capability. At the lower helm is a depth sounder, a second nearby VHF with dedicated antenna. A MORAD HF antenna and Dynaplate are also installed, ready for Marine SSB or HAM HF installation. Flat screen TV and Sony home theater/CD/Receiver surround sound system. The cabin accommodations were re-carpeted in 2005, the leather recliner loveseat and swivel rockers were new in 2003. The master cabin has a walk-around centerline queen with deluxe mattress. Custom bookshelves were added to the aft cabin and main salon. There is abundant storage throughout, including a pantry/hanging locker opposite the washer/dryer in the aft cabin passageway. The cosmetic appearance of the teak bulkheads and headliner is excellent. The sanitary system is fully compliant for “No Discharge” areas, with a 100 Gal holding tank, deck pump out and an approved, compliant method of securing the overboard pump out capability. “SNOW GOOSE” has a current USCGA Courtesy Inspection and all required USCG safety equipment.
