Price reduction of $5,000 on 9/15/11. New asking price of $145,000. This 1988 keel/centerboard is one of the last Bristol 41.1’s built. This late-model Bristol 41.1 center cockpit was custom built for the owners: This one-owner vessel has some custom features not seen on other Ted Hood-designed 41.1’s: double-spreader rig a larger owners’ sleeping arrangement with 7-foot berth to starboard higher coamings in the cockpit rectangular, opening ports in lieu of the traditional, fixed trapizoid windows Newer Yanmar 55 h.p. diesel Hood Sto-way mainsail furling New air conditioning & heat by Cruisair Westerbeke generator in a sound box & separate from the engine compartment Centerboard winch cleared from cockpit & built into navigation station Opening deck hatch in bow to chain locker & sail locker in lieu of anchor well This Bristol 41.1 is well equipped, and has a more contemporary look and feel. The hull is Awlgripped dark blue and looks great. She is equipped with radar, autopilot, GPS/plotter, and an inverter/charger. The layout is great for cruising with two staterooms and two heads w/showers. The salon is large, and airy with two large opening deck hatches, and 6 opening ports. She features a settee to stbd. in lieu of the barrel chairs, so there is a great sea berth in the salon. Adding to ventilation below are two large, chrome Dorade vents with stainless guards. The Bristol 41.1 is perfect for cruising in shoal waters with her keel/centerboard design. The draft is only 4′ 6″ with the board raised. So cruising the Chesapeake, Bahamas and other shoal waters is possible. And when going to windward, lower the large centerboard to a draft of almost 8 feet for upwind sailing. Ted Hood and Bristol Marine perfected keel/centerboard designs with hundreds of yachts built. For sail control, the Hood Sto-way in-mast furling offers easy deployment and furling of the large mainsail using an electric motor with switch in the cockpit. And the genoa is furling using the Schaefer 3100 system with a cockpit control line. Sails are by Scott. An assymetrical cruising spinnaker is included in the sail inventory. The genoa winches are Lewmar 55 ST self tailers. And there are secondary self tailers for the traveler and other control lines. Two Lewmar 46 ST’s are located conveniently behind the helmsman to trim the mainsheet and traveller. The Bristol 41.1 design by Ted Hood & Dieter Empacher is a well-built sloop you can cruise offshore or in protected waters. Her solid fiberglass hull is hand-laid, and the lead ballast is internal inside the keel cavity where it is glassed in place. The hull-to-deck joint is thru-bolted as well as fiberglassed from the inside. Chainplates and knees are much more stout than those found in lighter, lesser boats built today. Side decks are wide, making going forward and aft safe and easy. The hull shape has ample rocker and full bilges which give a good motion at sea plus good sea manners in large seas. Make arrangements to see her today. Call for more details.
