‘Bato’ is a Sigma 35 which is a nice style of boat and known as a fast cruiser racer. The Sigma 35 was designed in 1989/90 as a larger version of the very successful Sigma 33, but with a more comfortable interior. To that end the design was collaboration between David Thomas, who drew the hull form and rig, and Bill Dixon, who designed the interior. The Sigma 35 is fast, particularly to windward, and the interior is a nice compromise between pure cruising comfort and seagoing practicality, for example long straight settee berths with leecloths, and an L-shaped galley with good handholdsBato had 2 new batteries in 2010, Standing rigging replaced in 2007. Jeckells Main fully battened and Genoa new in 2005.
