The rig is generously proportioned so that an overlapping headsail is not necessary when sailing close-hauled, even in light air. The custom foredeck jib traveler track, and a single jib sheet led aft, handles the roller furling self-tending up wind jib. Tacking is reduced to a simple turn of the wheel. On a reach, the genoa is deployed to add power and the jib is furled. The ease of an easy sail change with the Harken furler system always lends a light pressure to the helm, even under uncomfortable conditions. Broad reaching, an asymmetrical spinnaker(Bonnie Min has one!) can be flown from the bowsprit without added complexities of a pole. It should be noted that the Saga 35 is Fast, Fast, Fast which makes crusing even more fun.
