BROKER’S COMMENTS This 60 ft Mylne designed gaff yawl was launched in 2006 as a 12 Metre – She has the lines of her 1909 sister ship JAVOTTE but a modern construction plan engineered by Ian Nicolson.  In 2010 KATE was converted to yawl rig, giving her a powerful mizzen, following the tradition from the early 1900s when sailing with the large cutter rig became just a bit too much hard work. The effect has immeasurably enhanced handling and improved speed in almost all conditions.
