Hard Top or Bimini Top and a variety of options; your choice!     Known as “Billy Joel’s Boat”, the traditional beauty of the Shelter Island Runabout belies her incredible performance capabilities. Shelter Island Runabouts are built to your order; Custom Hard top or Open with Bimini Top. Twin diesel power packages make this Downeast Beauty an exquisite and very fast boat, to the tune of 47 mph! The moderate Deep-V hull is designed with 15 degree deadrise at the transom and a narrow 10 foot beam to provide stability and comfort at all speeds. Combine this with noise and vibration reduction systems and you will have composed the perfect harmony between handsome styling, speed and comfort. The aft cockpit is left open for individual owners’ custom layouts. Fighting chairs, lounging chairs, folding captain chairs or athwartship benches are just some of the options. Options are left to each individual’s desires such as a hard top, galley up or down, tuna tower, radar post, etc. To starboard is the helm-seat steering station with engine instrumentation and appropriate navigational equipment. The interior is available with custom teak or mahogany joiner-work, paneled doors, and white bulkheads or completely varnished in gloss or satin with your choice of woods.
