The keel has been extended by the addition of a 9? deep external full length oak keel to give the boat more grip in the water. Lead plates each side of the keel through bolted provide additional external ballast. Several internal lead pigs. The rudder appears to be quite recent with good galvanised hangings. The deck was was relaid in the 1995 refit in plywood, painted with ligt blue deck paint. A shallow bulwark is carried on new oak stanchions taken well down the hull inside with a varnished mahogany capping. The bulwark plank is mahogany, finished varnished and pierced with water-ways with a varnished mahogany rubbing strake around at deck level. A mahogany cock-pit coaming is formed into a sweet curve round the forward end to give an open, deep cock-pit. The cock-pit sole is laid in lifting ply panels. The fore stay is set up with a lanyard to the ?bumpkin?, a short galvanised steel tube made as part of a new stemhead fitting which also carries the port side gammon iron ring to take the bowsprit. This bumpkin is typical of Cornish boats like the Falmouth Oyster Boats and extends the fore triangle. A fixed chain bob-stay takes the upward pull. Varnished slab reef boom and varnished gaff with leathered saddle. The boom sheets to a bronze sheet horse on the short aft deck over the tiller The staysail sheets to a track each side by the chain plates.
