  (LOCATION: Osprey FL) To call this 42’ Dawn Commuter rare piece of marine history would be an understatement. She is one of two known to exist today. Launched in 1928, she personifies the age of The Great Gatsby, with the style and grace that wooden boats are meant to have.  This 42’ motor launch began life as a 38-footer but was promptly returned to the builder and extended to allow for more on-deck seating space with room for entertaining. The additional four feet make her one of a kind. Rozzy has had four owners over the years with the current owners purchasing and restoring her in 2004 with new mahogany decks, oak ribs, and keel. The Northern Lights generator, and reverse cycle heating and air conditioning were a concession to modern life.On deck we have 42’ of deck space beginning up front with an open foredeck with entry hatch and skylight. The helm is enclosed with hard top, glass windshield, side windows, and side curtains.  The aft seating area has lounge with mahogany coffee table and wicker chairs. Forward, the helm is to port with mahogany ship’s wheel, full instrumentation, and overhead depth finder and VHF radio. To starboard is the chart table with storage locker. A center companionway leads below.Below we enter and open salon with the galley to our left and an enclosed head compartment to the right. The salon has facing settees with under-seat storage. The original drop-leaf table in the center with mahogany floors below and larger skylight above. Forward is the v-berth with under-berth storage and overhead hatch with ladder.Rozzy is powered by twin Volvo diesel engines for dependable and economical operation. A Northern Lights generator provides on-board electrical power. Reverse cycle HVAC maintains interior comfort.
