The LAKE UNION Dry Dock Company of Seattle, Washington  built many of the most respected Classic Yachts produced on the West Coast before the 2nd World War. This beautiful 46-footer, “ÂÂœTHE CHAMP,” is an outstanding example of the breed. She was originally built and launched at their famous yard on the shores of Seattle’™s Lake Union in 1930. Over the last few years she is reported virtually rebuilt to professional standards at Humbolt Bay, California’™s premier northern marine center. Some of the rebuild is recorded in the associated photos; as can be seen, it was an unusually extensive reconstruction. She is of 45’™ 8’ loa by 11’™ 6″ beam with a 4’™ 6″ draft. Equipped to be capable of cruising 1,000 miles north into Alaska or south down the coast to Southern California and beyond into Mexico without refueling, she features two new Ford Lehman 90 hp Marine Diesels with heat exchangers (less than 100 hrs use reported), Two new Aluminum fuel tanks to provide a 1,000 + mile range without refueling, 120VAC and 12VDC electrical systems and Shore Power, new planking, framing and fastenings, interior and exterior refinishing/rebuilding, FURUNO 16 mile RADAR, ICON VHF ship to shore, large Full Galley with stove-oven-refrigeration and freezer, 4 KW Diesel GenSet, new interior appointments, two 45 lbs Danforth Anchors with rode and anchor winch and much more. She is set up to sleep 4 to 6 people in comfort and has two enclosed Marine Heads, Full Convertible Aft Enclosure, Dickinson Diesel Cabin Heater, Hot & Cold Pressure Water, Swim Platform, and more. We consider her to be an exceptional buy in a Classic Cruiser as she has received a refit that would cost most buyers more than her asking price and in that she has already been outfitted for extended cruising as well as being a beautiful yacht and a Pacific Northwest Treasure “ÂÂœTHE CHAMP” is a rare & beautiful Classic Yacht meriting membership in the prestigious Classic Yacht Association. She was designed by renowned Pacific Northwest Naval Architect, Ted Geary & built in Seattle by the legendary Lake Union Drydock & Machine Works; she was launched in 1930. Her planking is reported Honduran Mahogany over White Oak framing fastened with new galvanized wood screws. She features NEW Lehman-Ford Twin Diesel engines with less than 100 hours of use since installation. Her Diesel Auxiliary Generator Set has only been run a few hours. Her two epoxy-coated fuel tanks are reported new and of 500 gallon capacity each (Seller reports that she can make Alaska from San Francisco without refueling).   Basically, this beautiful Classic Vessel was virtually rebuilt with less than 100 hours of use since the rebuild/restoration was completed. Her hull, systems, framing, planking, fastenings, wiring, mechanical systems & more are reported either new or totally overhauled. This is an extremely rare opportunity; she is in such excellent condition that it is our opinion that she could be cruised to Seattle (for instance) tomorrow. As is shown in the photos, she features the classical lines of a proper “ÂÂœGatsby Era” yacht, with plumb bow, raised foredeck, varnished hardwood cabins & accouterments, as well as a squared-off raised wheelhouse trunk cabin & hard canopied aft deck enclosable with roll-down vinyl windows. “ÂÂœTHE CHAMP” features a full galley with Refrigerator & Freezer, 3-Burner Range with Oven, Diesel Cabin Heater, 6’™ 3″ Headroom, New Exhaust System, Swim Platform,  Pilot House windows are reported safety glass.  She also features FURUNO 16-mile RADAR, ICOM VHF Ship-to-Shore & more.
