A legendary Swedish machine-works was founded in the village of Storebro near the Baltic Sea in 1728. Their lathes and tools set a world standard for precision and they are still manufactured today. Storebro began building custom mahogany planked boats in the 20th century and their boat building business was created as a separate entity in the 1940’s. They’re still renowned for their exquisite custom designs up to 60 ft. with million dollar prices.  But, you can have this Classic express cruiser for a whole lot less, and own a part of that grand history. Storebro built about 2800 boats in the 25′ range between 1951 and 1964, known as the Solö Ruff design. The lovely ‘Zizi’ was brought to the US in 2001, completely refurbished in 2003 and repowered with a Volvo Penta MD 2030 diesel. She’s enjoyed her summers turning heads on Seattle’s beautiful downtown Lake Union waterway and she was donated to us in November. The photos tell the story – so we’ve included a large selection taken just after Thanksgiving weekend.  A copy of her recent appraisal (out of the water) is available to qualified buyers as well. Some lucky collector is going to enjoy this boat for years to come — maybe Santa has you on that list this week?
