This ex-Royal Navy minesweeper is currently moored on a prestigious stretch of the river between Chelsea Physic Garden and the Buddha in Battersea Park, is close to Cadogan Pier and benefits from all the facilities thereon. The ship comes with her own Ribcraft RIB for commuting to the nearby pier ? or even to the office! The Ham class was a class of inshore minesweepers (IMS), known as the Type 1, of the Royal Navy. The class was designed to operate in the shallow water of rivers and estuaries. It took its name from the fact that all the ship names were British place names ending in -“ham”. This vessel was sold in 1967 to Decca Ltd, who used her as a research and calibration vessel on the Decca Navigator chain. Although the ship has a sound superstructure, she suffered from a fire above decks in early 2010 and the bridge and upper saloon are fire and smoke damaged (though still intact). Below decks, however, she is in reasonable fettle (although in need of some restoration) and is ripe for a stunning houseboat conversion. As one would expect, the super-strong hull, complete with nine bulkheads, was built to last ? and last it will. These boat details are subject to contract. Note: Offers on the asking price may be considered.
