LAISSEZ FAIRE LAISSEZ FAIRE is a beautiful Alden cruising yacht with a good turn of speed and a roomy, well-laid-out interior.  Her bronze keel/centerboard configuration affords access to thin water without sacrificing performance offshore.  We have been in contact with LAISSEZ FAIRE’s owners over the years and have followed both the upgrading done on her and her ongoing maintenance–all of which gives us confidence in recommending her as having been thoroughly and lovingly cared for.  The recent work on LAISSEZ FAIRE’s deck, frames, and planking, the entire refastening, stripping, and re-varnishing of the spars, and recently rebuilt engine are the latest improvements in her owners’  ongoing maintenance and upgrading program.  All her sails have been re- stitched and cleaned. LAISSEZ FAIRE’s original owner, Arthur Swanson of Swanson’s food-company fame, had LAISSEZ FAIRE designed to be easily sailed as a single-hander.  He, in fact, frequently raced her solo successfully, and the ease of short-handed sailing translates into relaxed cruising and family sailing.  Extensively cruised in Florida and Bahamian waters under her current ownership, LAISSEZ FAIRE has proven to be a practical and fun-to-sail family cruiser.
