The Chinook 34 is a yacht that enjoys a unique place in the history of yachting.  It is recognized as being the first production fiberglass yacht.  Made of woven roving and glass cloth, the hull is actually bullet proof.  A .22 bullet fired at 13 ft could not penetrate the hull.  Nor could a .38 caliber pistol shot.  The boat was originally built by Yacht Constructors, Inc, of Portland, Oregon, later to become Cascade Yachts, Inc., the builder of the Cascade 36 and 42. CYGNUS was built in 1964 and was totally refit in 1982 by the present owner.  It is still an all around performing full keel classic sloop with single spreader rig, large cockpit and airy cabin with mahogany iinterior.  She needs some TLC for some cosmetic issues, but is ready to go sailing today.   The owner says to sell the boat!  He can no longer take proper care of her, and wants her to go to someone who will love her like he does.
