For commercial use or conversion to an Exploration Yacht A fully operational tug with an International Load Line Certificate and carries a full complement of safety equipment as required for a sea-going, commercial vessel. Re-built and re-engined 1977 (Bureau Veritas +100A4 M E2 Tug + MC E1) Built by in Germany in 1964, this 30m tug was designed and built to work in some of the worst seas in the world for up to three months at a time carrying enough fuel to give a range of up to 10,000 miles free running with a top speed of 13kts, and an economical cruising speed of 10kts @ 250 rpm. Her powerful slow revving engine is very economical on fuel, which in these days of high fuel prices is a major consideration. At ten knots free running, she will cover over 240 miles in a day burning only 100 lt per hour (much less at slower speeds). A new hydraulic bow thruster was fitted in 2010 at a cost of £50,000. Being a fully operational tug with a bollard pull of over 27 tons, she can also perform towing if required. She is fitted with a powerful hydraulic towing winch, (24 ton pull, 80 ton brake) 1,000m x 34mm tow wire. The towing hook is also fitted with a heavy duty quick release tow hook for rope towing. A secondary handling winch and large capstan are mounted on the after deck. Heavy items can be lifted, including placing on, or recovery from the sea bed utilising the two high power winches in conjunction with an ?A? frame mounted Winch on the after deck. The ship has two high level observation platforms ideal for spotting or for use as camera platforms. Her wide spacious decks are useful for the storage and operation of bulky equipment. The ship carries over 350m of anchor cable, so can anchor in relatively deep water. She carries 30,000 litres of fresh water in five tanks. There is ample deck space, with a Grove crane capable of moving equipment on and off the ship and around the deck. It is capable of lifting your equipment on and off the ship and around the after deck. It will lift between 9 tonnes and 1 tonnes depending on how far it is extended. There is comfortable accommodation for twelve in six twin berth cabins, and a captains cabin on the bridge, three shower rooms, a large comfortable saloon, and a fully fitted galley. With her extra wide beam (10m) and her deep draft she is stable in all sea conditions, so guests are unlikely to get sea sick. Very well equipped to perform a variety of tasks at sea. Her five generators can provide 24v dc, 240v dc, 240v single phase ac, or 415v three phase ac. For diving the ship has its own full size twin lock re-compression chamber, which can be carried on board when operations involve deep or long duration dives.
