Rebel Clipper is a Downeast center cockpit ketch built in California. She is a deep draft , full keel, heavy go anywhere cruising sailboat. Her draft is 6 ft. empty weight 45,000 pounds, mast height 63 ft. from the water line. Power comes from a Perkins 4-154 63 hp engine with 2 diesel tanks 150 gals each. The sailboat is 45ft long has a 5ft. bowsprit with a dolphin strike extended beyond the bow. She is a big 45ft. boat. Her construction is fiberglass with a hull thickness of > 2 cm. There are teak rail caps and She gives the appearance of a wooden hull with classic lines. she is made for sailing holds her line well in all conditions.

 

 



 

 

There is an in-mast furling main and mizen, She is cutter rigged and provides a genoa and stay sail with a boom. The sail inventory includes the main, mizen, genoa, yankee, staysail, and storm sail. These sail were all custom made in 1995. She has 2 large anchors on the bow sprit with 50ft of chain and several hundred ft of anchor line and a large power windlass. All windows and port holes replace in 2008. The decks were all painted in 2008. There is a vetus bow thruster for easy docking and slip entry, installed in 2005 along with forwarded looking 2 axis sonar . A/c new in 2005 16,000 BTU reverse cycle heat pump.The exterior condition of the boat is in good shape, The only exception is the aluminum mast that needs painting. She has a wind generator that I have not used.

The interior of the boat is in good shape. the floors are in distress and need some TLC. There are 3 large window on each side of the saloon giving her great indoor views and lots of light in side.There is a new mattress in the aft cabin and saloon cushions , navigation station. Going down the ladder There is a Nav station to port followed by a large L shape couch to the starboard side is a galley with 4 burner stove and oven, front opening refergator and top loading freezer. There is a large 2 sided sink, followed by a booth type table with micro wave and book case with storage. She has 2 separate fresh water systems 2 tanks 150/75 gal. forward of the saloon starboard is a separate shower then a head with a electrosan toilet waste management system instead of a holding tank. To port is the mid birth and then the v birth to forward. Aft is a large cabin with makeup station and head. There is a large bunk aft with tv/dvd combo. Each cabin has dresser and hanging locker with storage under bunk.

She is a very stable boat that holds her course well and sits well on the hook and in the slip. I used 2 hand held gps for navigating and paper charts with VHF radio in the cabin and back up handheld VHF radio in the cockpit. I lived aboard for a year and made 2 trips to the Bahamas. Great time on the water comfortable .
