The revered Grand Banks 42-ft Classic is one of the most handsome production boats ever built. Their dependability and the loyalty of their owners are great examples of why there were over 1500 models built, spanning 3-plus decades. Somat is a testamonial to the breed, having been well maintained and kept in good working order by her owner. The teak deck “wince” factor has been dealt with by the removal of the teak and replaced with painted non-skid. Add to that, her transome is all fiberglass. Somat has had numerous recent upgrades and maintenance performed such as lots of new canvas, a new West Marine RIB, heat exchangers,refrigerator compressor, glass mat batteries. forward A/C, holding tank, new and improved port/stbd entryway doors. The bright work has been kept in tip-top shape. Much of the interior bright work was renewed in ’07 and the GB factory cushion covers were replaced in ’07 as well.
