This is a capable liveaboard cruising vessel that is proven blue water boat. We are proud to offer a great boat for under $90K. Great liveboard layout for a couple or small famiy. The Tayana Vancouver 42 is one of those classic designs that just looks right; Skookum’s sharp, high bow, dramatic sheer ling, powerful hull shape spells “real”. The hull design has a beautiful swept back, long “cruising fin keel”, huge skeg hung rudder, and beautiful rounded rear. On deck, the curve of the deck makes the surface completely flat at 12 degrees of heel. The high (32 inch) lifelines give security. The deep cockpit is secure and safe. With a powerful divided sail plan with a true cutter rig a cruising couple will have all the options to easily shorten sail in all conditions. This Tayana Vancouver Harris designed 42, will go the distance, all in style, speed, comfort, and safety; all for very little money. Our good friend, the Yacht Designer Bob Perry, has said in his famous design reviews that “the concept of the Vancouver 42 is to provide a yacht, that is particularly suited to long offshore passages with little or no compromising in the direction of the production, all purpose yacht and that the Tayana 42 is built by the Ta Yang Yacht Building Company in Taiwan. Ta Yang has the reputation of being one of the most reliable and consistent yards in the orient. With the direction of Mr. Harris, they should produce a good product.” And it was a great product! Our current offering has been owned by the current owners since 1986. In 25 years of ownership, these good boat owners have maintained her in excellent condition, caring for her like the family member she is.
