1981 C&C YACHTS 40, 1/4 Ownership. am/fm stereo, anchor, bilge pump, bow pulpit, coast guard pack, compass, depthfinder, dinghy, dockside power, galley, gps, head, knotmeter, roller furling, 10 sails, shower, 2 batteries, vhf radio, 12 winches, sleeps 7, documented, prof maintained, pics on request. Own a 40 foot sailboat for the price of a 20 footer. I’m selling a 1/4th ownership in a 1981 C&C 40. $200 a month maintenance covers moorage at Shileshole Bay Marina, insurance and maintenance. The boat will stay in Seattle because the other partners will not want to move her. This is a very fast boat, rigged for cruising with RIB dinghy, 10 hp Honda 4-stroke outboard, Yanmar diesel, large galley, propane BBQ, GPS, emergency life raft, ditch kit, etc. We have taken her far north into Canada. The partnership has been great. Each of us take the boat for 2 weeks in the summer (except one partner moved to Idaho and hasn’t used her in 2 years). The first crew takes the boat north from Seattle. They usually rendezvous with the second crew around Campbell River. The first crew takes the second crew’s car home and the second crew takes the boat further north. They trade with the third crew at Port McNeil. The third crew then has 2 weeks in the Broughton Islands (you really, really want this leg of the voyage). The fourth crew picks up the boat in Port McNeil and brings her home. During the rest of the year, the boat hardly gets used by the partners. I’ve never wanted to take the boat to find that someone else already had her. Cruise the Sound, San Juans, Gulf Islands or all the way up to the Broughtons in speed and comfort. She sails like a witch, you can pass 90% of the boats out there, she goes to windward better than any other boat I’ve sailed, then spend a comfortable night anchored in some quiet cove.
