The Whitby 42 was designed and constructed as an offshore cruiser, and is an excellent choice for anyone who wants to sell their house and move aboard a boat for long term cruising . Many of these boats are used for extended offshore passages, and the construction practices of the 70’s and 80’s make this use safe and practicable. The Whitby 42 has a center cockpit layout which makes the aft cabin completely separate from the main cabin. The saloon and the aft cabin are connected by a small hallway. Under sail she has speed on reaches and runs well. The best attribute of the Whitby 42 is the accommodation. Both staterooms are generously sized, and have large heads with showers adjoining them. The galley is well suited for cooking both underway and at anchor. The galley’s location is perfect for keeping the cook both in the action and out of the way. The large saloon, well laid out navigation station and the workbench in the passageway between the saloon and the after stateroom make the boat one of the most liveable production boats.   This particular yacht has been very well maintained. New two pack polyurethane deck paint in 2009. The interior was completely repainted the same year. The spacious engine room is exceptionally clean and accessable. The oil cooler and heat exchanger were rebuilt in 2009. The interior as a whole is in mint condition and your early inspection is advised.
