This Whiting 47 is a must to inspect.The Whiting 47 comes from one of the well respected yards of New Zealand ?Whiting Yachts. On inspection you can tell this centre cockpit sloop has been loved as she presents very well. When boarding you get the feeling that the owner has spent time and money on this yacht , then you start dreaming of the great sailing possibilities that this yacht has. She is very well laid out ,open and not like some of the smaller centre cockpits she does not possess the stoop way or crawl through to the aft cabin.The great size of the centre cockpit makes this a well protected and spacious place to sail and entertain. Many of the lines lead back to the cockpit for ease of sail handling. This is complimented by a nice aft work deck and very large Lazerette . A very good feature is the second electric windlass on the aft deck for the stern anchor. No reason to now lay in a beam sea at anchor with this nice option. The deck is in glued down teak that presents very well and is in excellent condition. This is accentuated by stainless fairleads and cleats fore and aft . This Whiting lends itself to the cutter configuration with the allowance to remove the inner forestay. The sloop set up with with lazy jacks and fulrling genoa in another good feature .The head room down below is exceptional and flows throughout . The interior lay out creates privacy with 2 cabins, one fore and one aft . The aft cabin is a very nice full beam and has it own private ensuite. There is also accommodation in the designated nav station or the pilot station and another single just aft of the forward V-berth to starboard .The interior refit is in teak and all linings were replaced with a fresh white formica which sees the presentation very pleasing to the eye. The Whitings have excellent fridge and freezer space being engine driven with big cold plates which is excellent for those long passages and cold refreshments.The big features of the main refit between 2000 and 2002 is the new standing rigging and the overhaul of the 100 HP Yanmar engine , this will see a cruise speed of 6.5 kts consuming 5 litres /hr . This totals to approximately 500NM Range . This Whiting 47 has many upgraded features that will see the new owner with a great cruising vessel suitable to cross the oceans of the world.
