S/V UNCLE SAM is a ten meter racing boat that features a custom Glenn Henderson designed keel, custom Vara rudder system and custom expanded cockpit with open transom. The customization work was done by Soca Boats in Trinidad in 2001. The 7/8 fractional rig has a double spreader mast, double sail track on the headstay, running backstays and check stays. There is a one cyclinder Yanmar diesel engine with feathering prop when motoring is required. The modest interior offers a v-berth, marine toilet and settees to port and starboard. UNCLE SAM has enjoyed a successful history competing in many Caribbean regattas but, has been hauled out for the last two years as the owner has retired from racing.
