Construction DECK CONFIGURATION: slightly crowned flush deck assembly with substantial full perimeter bulwarks. The center cockpit has high seat backs/coamings and is well protected by a sturdy three panel windshield and canvas dodger. The weather decks are sheathed with teak, new in 2001, and glued not screwed. HULL CONFIGURATION: contemporary performance oriented hull form with a raked bow, well rounded forefoot, long low aspect ratio cruising keel, well protected propeller on a skeg, a full skeg supported rudder and a transom type stern. A bar is mounted from the aft end of the keel to the rudder skeg to prevent lines from wrapping around the propeller. There is a very substantial molded-in- rub rail with bronze striker plate around the vessel’s perimeter. DECK CONSTRUCTION: fully hand laminated one piece deck and cockpit made of woven roving and strand mat with isophthalic polyester resin. There is a 35mm PVC core in strategic areas for enhanced strength and rigidity as well as improved thermal and acoustical insulating properties. Gel coated exterior surfaces. HULL CONSTRUCTION: fully hand laminated one piece hull with alternate layers of woven roving and strand mat in isophthalic polyester resin. Hull was fully epoxy treated in 1995. The lead ballast is positioned inside the keel in a slurry of mat and epoxy resin, and then thoroughly secured in place with numerous laminations. The hull and deck are laminated together with fiberglass for a strong and leak-free joint. Mechanical Data Main engine is a 117hp Volvo TMD-40B six cylinder four cycle, turbocharged, freshwater cooled, marine diesel with raw water strainer. The engine is mounted on four fully adjustable mounts with vibration isolation inserts. Volvo MX-3 gear type reduction drive. Stainless steel propeller shaft is 1.5″. Water lubricated rubber cutlass stern bearing. New exhaust hoses and mufflers 2004. Dripless stuffing box. Three blade MaxiProp propeller, fully reconditioned 2004. Spare fixed propeller. The engine and reduction drive are controlled by (new 2004) Edson dual lever throttle/shift mounted on the steering pedestal. Pedestal mounted destroyer wheel. Cable and quadrant steering assembly. Sleipner bow thruster, new 2005. Fitted emergency tiller. Engine instruments include a tachometer, hour meter, oil pressure gauge, cooling water temperature gauge, and a volt meter. There are alarms for low oil pressure and high cooling water temperature. Dedicated Racor primary fuel filter, Volvo/CA V secondary fuel filter. The engine was fully rebuilt at Volvo certified yard in 2005 and has less than 500 hours. Access to the engine and machinery is very good for all service routines. Generator is Westerbeke WMD8.064 with under 3500 hours. It has a dedicated Racor fuel filter and many new auxiliary parts since 2004. Tankage: Diesel fuel: 165 gallons in two stainless steel tanks. Freshwater: 340 gallons in one fiberglass tank.
