$14,100 price reduction!   The Special Edition model of the La Coste 42 is a strong, well-built performance cruiser that can be short sailed with main and #2 genoa – or with high-clewed #1 genoa – and out perform most comparable cruisers. The triple-spreader rig with 2-inch-taller mast can take the strain of distance cruising and can be sailed as a sloop or a cutter.   She carries a wide beam aft, deep fin keel and big spade rudder that make for a lot of power and allows her to stay on her feet. The big destroyer wheel makes steering from any position easy. The design by Sparkman & Stephens provides a great sailing vessel, structural integrity and comfort. The hull is hand-laid up fiberglass with the deck having a balsa core and reinforced fiberglass. The inner hull/double hull system is designed for an almost total absence of mildew and moisture below.   This Owner’s Version configuration is a win-win with a nice roomy interior and master king-sized berth aft.
