“ALIX” is a superb example of the desirable Ron Holland-designed SWAN 43 RH as built by NAUTOR of Finland in the mid-1980’s. She is the 15th example built out of a total production run of (28) SWAN 43 RH models constructed. The “ALIX” features both the Scheel keel shoal-draft option (“SH”) and a roller-furling mainsail system to provide ease-of-handling for the performance cruising sailor. The “ALIX” offers a very attractive cruising package with her shoal draft feature, innate performance capabilities and comfort options along with all of her enhancements made over the past few years.
Cruising comfort for “ALIX” is further enhanced with her “queen centerline berth” in the large aft cabin. In addition, there is a nicely-apportioned double berth forward instead of a V-berth configuration. The extensive Factory option and inventory list, along with the recent refit upgrades, all combine to make “ALIX” a rarely available offering in the SWAN brokerage market today.
The “ALIX” has completed a comprehensive refit that now includes new TDS teak decks along with an updated & more efficient deck layout with new hardware (all Winter/Spring, 2010), new DOYLE sails (Spring, 2008) and electronics & electrical upgrades (2009 & Summer, 2010) that include new AGM Lifeline batteries (House/Utility) & new LED running lights. Over the past several years, an extensive maintenance & upgrade list has been accomplished with the “ALIX” receiving new lifelines, canvas, rudder bearings, a new HARKEN “Big Boat” traveller system and the spars have been re-AwlGripped white. In addition, the hydraulics were overhauled and the Main Salon table was completely refinished to a truly exceptional result and sections of the Main Salon area itself received a varnish redo. Over the ’08-’09 Winter layup, the bottom was redone, i.e., stripped & epoxy barrier-coated & painted, and the keel was faired. The NAVTEC standing rigging was all reheaded with some sections being replaced to conform to modern insurance standards (Winter/Spring, 2009). A new SEAFROST BD Direct Evaporator refrigeration system and a new RAYTHEON integrated chart plotter & radar with C90W display at helm were also installed (July, 2009).
Well-equipped for extended cruising or club racing as desired, the “ALIX” has been exceptionally and thoughtfully well-maintained by her knowledgeable Owners. She is now available for brokerage sale.
