JUPITER has had only one owner since her commissioning whose chief aim was to create a yacht capable of remaining away from port with 8 guests and 4 crew for months at a time. The yacht had to be strong and powerful under sail as well as under engine: It had to have an interior that was luxurious but not impractical. Inside and out, of course, she had to be beautiful. JUPITER was the successful result.Since her first Trans-Atlantic in 1990, she has sailed all the oceans of the world between 65° North and 65° South. She has rounded Cape Horn and the Cape of Good Hope, has moved through brash ice before tidal glaciers and passed the test with flying colours.From the very beginning, the professional crew has effected an aggressive programme of preventive, scheduled maintenance. In her current excellent state – refined and upgraded – she incorporates the lessons that sailing the globe have taught her.
