The racing record for Sleeper/Assassin/Yes is superb, she is very competitive and her racing results shows she has won many races and regattas, most recently winning the highly competitive Class 3, Cowes week 2009. Her sister ship Jackdaw is also consistently recording top results. The J 39 is one of those evergreen designs that never lets you down, she has no bad vices and is a joy to sail and embarrasses more expensive newer designs! This year we competed in the Island Double and got over 18 knots just two up, she was well under control.   She has had the following refits.   All hatches replaced with new Perspex  All cabin port windows replaced with new Perspex  All deck fittings removed and bedded in with Sikaflex  Keel taken off and refitted with new keel bolts, keel stringers and replaced and refaired Autumn 2007 Desty Marina Hamble.  Rudder taken out and new top and bottom custom made roller bearings fitted Spring 2009  Hull taken back new epoxy applied and refaired and resprayed spring 2009  Topsides resprayed with Awlgrip paint Autumn 2007 Desty Marine  Internal New floor boards Autumn 2007 – Desty marine  New internal varnish Desty marine Autumn 2007  Mast  removed, stripped back to original ally, fully refurbished back to as new condition, new sheaves, new wiring throughout, re-sprayed by Casse Tete marine spring 2007 Mast rebuilt by Kiwi Marine 100% all new standing rod rigging and all new Dyneema running rigging Spring 2008  All new wiring internally  New heads hatch Spring 2009  New heads fitted Spring 2009  All new bilge pump hoses replaced Autumn 2007  The boat is always hauled in August stored ashore and re-launched in April, the engine is serviced twice yearly, the winches and deck equipment serviced and updated as required.
