Elegant Spacious New Zealand Steel Yachtbuilt for the South Pacific Ocean    First a personal word from TJ:    I’d like to comment on this boat, sailor to sailor.    I’ve inspected this boat a couple of times, and the only word for her is magnificent. The systems are bulletproof, and the construction is the finest that I have ever seen in a steel yacht. Jenny and I own and cruise a steel boat ourselves, and have looked closely at dozens of them over the years. There are very few steel cruisers anywhere in the world that can compare to this one.     There is not a speck of rust to be found, and the hull is so fair that it’s very difficult to tell that she’s not built of fiberglass.This is truly a go anywhere boat that is easily handled by a couple.    She shows as a much newer boat. If you’re in the market for a beautifully maintained, safe passagemaker, priced attractively, it would be well worth the trip to Mazatlan for a closer look.     Launched in 1992, she sailed in New Zealand for 12 years before exploring the waters of the USA and Canada. While in Sydney, British Columbia, she received some additional rigging. For the past five years, the owners have been enjoying Mexico where she now is located in the beautiful El Cid Marina of Mazatlan.This lovely yacht offers an open interior for comfortable living and entertaining. The light colored Leather lounge sofa and dinette areas compliment the hand selected aged Mahogany Cabinetry. Lighting is extensive and elegant. There are two double berths, with the forward berth having a 9″ custom innerspring mattress installed. The galley table converts into an extra berth for crew. A califant forward provides instant hot water for the shower and basin. After a swim, an additional fresh hot water shower is available aft of the cockpit.With her steel hull, this yacht is an exceptionally stable craft. 316 premium stainless was used throughout, including stainless drop down steps on the aft platform and convenient stainless steel hand holds. The builder, a master metal craftsman of 35 years, personally molded and formed each plate. She offers Category I New Zealand Standards which includes heavy Life Lines. Antique Stainless Steel Wind Scoops were restored and installed in the Dorades. Furling is powered, as well as two additional electrical powered winches, enabliing single handed sailing. She is powered for World Wide cruising with 250 kvp and 110 kvp connections. You will also enjoy a canvas cockpit house behind a fixed Dodger offering warmth and protection. There are many other special features including stainless steel fish boxes and a custom filleting table which sets up on the aft platform. Additionally, there is a crow’s nest which is an important feature in destinations such as Tonga and Fiji and other areas where coral is present. Auxillary power is by a large Gardner Diesel engine with the international reputation of “runs forever”. This lovely boat is comfortable at a low sound level 1000 RPM; using only 3 liters of fuel an hour. 175,000 of these large torque engines were manufactured in Manchester, England to produce electricity in remote isolated Pacific islands. No gaskets are necessary, so engine work can be done anywhere in the world.With great pride of ownership, all systems have been properly maintained over the vessel’s life by her owner.
