Fair Brie’s is a unique example of the transition boat from two of Tartan’s most popular yachts, the 372 and the Tartan 3800.  She has all the best features of modern Tartans including a “sugar scoop” stern for swimming, leg-dangling, showering and easy boarding, along with the “beaver-tail” keel and underbody of the 3800 and later Tartans.  Every part of this boat has been updated for the most comfortable and efficient cruising including the Lewmar leather covered folding steering wheel for maximum cockpit space, “California” dodger with all zip out windows, and a new custom designed bimini with three windows to permit seeing your sails from any angle and the ability to collapse the back, or front of the bimini leaving the other part standing in case you want sun in one area and not the other or collapse the entire bimini.   Once you go below her beautifully maintained teak cabinetry provides lots of storage.   Uncompromised ventilation is provided by 10 Lewmar opening ports, 6 Lewmar opening hatches, and two dorade boxes with stainless scoops, and a solar vent in the midship hatch.  Custom fitted sheets and duvets for each cabin makes this a ready to move aboard opportunity. If you want to extend your boating season she is equipped with Espar hot air diesel fired heating system.  For the winter season Fair Brie’s has a custom Fairclough cover to protect her until spring.  She spent the first 6 years in fresh water being rarely used and has been professionally maintained and updated with modern electronics, power winch and an updated electrical system to service it.  Fair Brie’s has been rigged for easy single handed or double handed sailing with a Dutchman Flaking System and single line reefing lead back to the cockpit.   The full batten Pentax main is deployed easily with the power two speed Harken winch on the cabin top and a Strong Track and slides.  The Pentax 153% genoa or the 100 % jib is easily reefed or furled with the Harken roller furling system which can also be led to the power winch for effortless furling in the most demanding wind conditions.  Navigation lights and most interior lighting has been updated to new, top of the line LED light fixtures.
