Raised cabintop before it was popular, the Sceptre 41 is a beautifully constructed performance oriented cruising boat that was well ahead of her time. As well as the raised cabin, note separate stall shower, deep comfortable cockpit with fixed glass dodger and step-thru transom, keel stepped mast with double spreaders and rod rigging, skeg hung rudder with performance underbody and wide decks with deep anchor well–all now common on high end cruising boats, but rare on a boat of this vintage and price. All in all, it’s not surprising that the Sceptre 41 was chosen by Ferenc Mate for his beautiful book, “World’s Best Sailboats”. She was also favorably reviewed by noted naval architect Robert Perry (see article by clicking on FULL SPECS above). Note that this particular professionally maintained late model example has only had three owners since new (including an ex- Royal Navy captain who made some FANTASTIC mods) and shows absolutely bristol, she’s one of the cleanest boats of this vintage that you’ll ever see with numerous upgrades and improvements.
