“Lyra”, the former “Chenango”, was built on the Maine Coast by Cabot Lyman for an experienced offshore sailor. She is a lovely, remarkably stable, sea kindly, and solid yacht. The hull form is “right” and she is well mannered in head, beam, and following seas. The current owners enjoyed cruising the “Loop” and lived comfortably aboard for stretches of up to six months.There is beauty in the details of this Lobster Yacht. The collaboration between knowledgeable sailor and quality custom boat builders Lyman-Morse is evident throughout. Moving fore and aft and about the decks and to and from the helm is easy, plenty of storage is built in, and only top notch equipment was installed. The fit and finish of the varnished teak interior is exemplary and is accented with decorative dolphin cut-outs. Her hull sides were refinished by Coecles Marine(winter of 2009/2010) in Awl-Craft Sea Shell Green.
