Stella Maris was conceived as a very fast racing yacht, but with a cruising interior for comfort. Designed by Alan Andrews, of “Glory”, “Alchemy” and “Pywackett” racing fame. The yacht was completed and raced in one or two regattas in Southern California in 2001. The yacht is very fast. In her cruising mode, 200 plus mile days are easily obtainable. And with some cruising equipment removed for racing would be very competitive in any regatta.

The current owner with his family which includes two teenagers, wanted to cross the pacific with maximum sailing speed, and minimum use of engine and generators. The vessel cruised 5000 miles, on less then 100 gallons of fuel. With running autopilots, lights, computers, water maker, ect.. Sailing ( running )in rough weather the vessel can achieve speed above 15 knots. She also “hove too “ perfectly with no sail, the boom acting as a storm sail. In light wind her hull speed will exceed the wind speed. The twin wheels and fin keel and large rudder, allow Stella Maris precise steering, “and turn on a dime”.

The vessel is sailed easily with two persons, but can become a racing machine with two additional crew. The layout allows the owner full privacy up forward and the crew or family member can also enjoyed their own staterooms with private heads. The owner has registered the vessel for the 2011 Cruising Race around Australia, but won’t be able to attend the race due to personal reasons, thus the yacht is available at a competitive price. Stella Maris is ready to go anywhere and in perfect condition. The vessel is currently flagged with an Antigua flag, and can be re flagged any nationality.
