From the board of Ed Burnett, in association with Nigel Irens and built by the Elephant Boatyard in 1998 ZINNIA may owe her easy lines not a little to the influence of West Country pilot boats with maybe just a hint of Laurent Giles and Harrison Butler. Whatever the influences, the designers and ZINNIA’S extremely knowledgeable owners have created a 30 foot gaff cutter for offshore and coastal sailing (but with an Atlantic circuit already under her belt) as sure footed and well mannered as her looks imply. Nonetheless she has turn of speed enough to have won her trophies at gaffer events with embarrassing ease. ZINNIA has a consistency of build, style and finish carried through the boat from the all bronze custom deck fittings to her interior, laid out unashamedly for two in open plan and displaying her wonderful wooden construction to great effect. Now; a decade on, but given the high quality of her build, her condition is hard to fault and there can be no doubt her next owner will acquire a very special yacht indeed.
