Builder – SFL – Fiji 1998 (ex Fiji government shipyard) designed by John Harrhy and built under NZ Safe Ship Management supervision by Survey Nelson Ltd. This vessel was originally designed for carrying sand and aggregate, she 16mm deck plating that has been heavily reinforced to take unloading by diggers etc. Work deck is 55m x 17m strengthened to carry 10 tonnes per square metre at middle to 2 tonnes per square metre at extremities. She has a large carrying capacity and is especially designed for shallow water operation. The vessel has been designed to sit on the bottom (propellers are sheltered and mud strainers are fitted).
