This 32′ Luhrs is being sold by the original owner who purchased the vessel here locally in San Diego.   As quoted in a GoBoating publication by Tom Thompson:  “The Luhrs 32 Convertible is positioned as the step-up-boat for buyers looking to go from an under 30 foot open sportfisher to a larger convertible-style model.  It’s a well-equipped bluewater contender that can keep up with the big boys offshore.  Much of the innovative beauty of the 32 Convertible is beneath it’s skin.  The Luhrs design team did an impressive job of maximizing the interior space.  There are a number of  improvements that aren’t readily obvious.  For example, the floor in the main saloon is cored fiberglass, not the traditional wood frame and plywood construction.  Not only does this reduce weight and increase strength, but it also improves insulation and sound deadening…  As an added bonus, there’s also an engine hatch in the cockpit step to the cabin door – an unheard of feature for a 32 foot boat. The fiberglass unit is fully assembled, then dropped into it’s space in the forward part of the hull.  After wiring and plumbing are connected, it’s bonded to the hull, the deck is lowered in place and everything is sealed tight.  This results in an absence of creaks, groans and movement while the boat is under way.  The forward stateroom features a double berth and a bench seat, along with drawers and a small hanging locker.  Just outside the door, however, is a much larger hanging locker that’s long enough to keep a dress or suit from wrinkling.  I’ve seen heads on boats that weren’t much bigger.  And speaking of heads, how about one with 6′ 5″ headroom, and more than enough knee room when you are sitting down? How about a separate shower stall ?  You will find allof these things in the 32 Convertible.  If you are thinking about stepping up to serious offshore fishing, the Luhrs 32 Convertible could be your next boat.  It’s as complete a package as you can get in a compact size and price.”
