This 76’ Spirit of Tradition sloop was built by Brooklin Boat Yard and launched in 2005 in time to participate in the Centennial running of the Marblehead to Halifax Race where she garnered line honors (1st to finish) in IRC Class II. In 2006, GOSHAWK took part in the Newport to Bermuda Race in which she placed 2nd in class. While GOSHAWK has been used primarily for racing and day sailing, she is equipped with all the amenities one would desire for long range cruising and ocean racing. GOSHAWK is a fusion of modern technology and traditional elegance. Her classic lines and heart-stirring performance has been turning heads where ever she has been. Goshawk is fitted out and equipped in such as way provide her owners and crew with comfortable accommodations where ever they see fit to cruise.   Furthest forward is a below decks locker in which is normally stowed both anchors, accompanying chain and rode(s), sails, docklines and fenders. The after section of this locker is divided into 2 separate compartments (center line and port) into which the individual chain & rodes can be faked for easy and quick access. To starboard is a Harken hydraulic systems motor (installed spring 2008) which at this time provides power to the Harken Roller Furling Headstay but can also in the future provide for powered winches, boom, etc. There is considerable space forward of the ground tackle compartments and in normal operation this area is used for storage of sails, dock lines and fenders. Forward of this storage area is a partial bulkhead thru which one can access the headstay chain plate assembly and headstay furling motor which is hidden below decks.   The interior accommodations of Goshawk are well thought in that the layout works equally well for  either racing offshore with a large crew or coastal cruising with fewer people aboard. The interior accommodations are finely finished. Varnished cherry is used for most of the principle joinery work and bulkheads. The cabin sole is sycamore bordered by cherry. Counter tops for the galley and heads (2) are also of sycamore offset by cherry fiddles, drawers and locker fronts.   Forward is a private sleeping cabin with a full sized queen berth on center. This cabin has a private head with shower (to port) and a chest of drawers and large hanging locker (to starboard). Lighting in the master cabin was recently redone. The door, leading aft out of the cabin, is on center. Aft of the forward cabin area but forward of the main saloon are two single sleeping cabins (port & starboard). Each cabin is fitted with drawers, lockers and hanging locker. Also in this area (to port) is a large stall shower. The main saloon is traditional in feel. A transom bench/settee with lockers above is to starboard with the aft end of the settee acting as the seat for the navigation station.
