The Oyster 53, Out of India, is an exceptional example of this very successful, high quality, raised salon, center cockpit design. The owner selected the Oyster 53 because of the superior design and construction, the excellent reputation of the builder, and superb post delivery services. Her attractive raised salon styling and spacious interior with exquisite joinery are Oyster features that have assured the company a continuing position at the top of the semi custom ocean cruising yacht market. Out of India’s systems and engineering are extraordinary and never have I seen a more attractive interior with beautifully matched and finished light oak. The owners of Out of India are very involved in her maintenance and no expense has been spared to keep her in top cosmetic and mechanical condition. The comprehensive list of equipment includes electric Stoway mainmast, electric winches, liferaft, cockpit table with fridge compartment, Glacier Bay holding plate electric refrigeration and freezer, bowthruster, 8 KW 220v generator, inverter and reverse cycle air conditioning. Out of India was built in Oyster’s New Zealand facility and commissioned in the fall of 2005 there and at their international headquarters in Ipswich, England. The same year she participated in the TransAtlantic ARC rally from Europe to Grenada. After a winter in the Caribbean, the yacht cruised New England waters in the summer of 2006. In the fall she returned south and enjoyed the cruising in the Bahamas, Central America and additional time in the Caribbean. Out of India is fully commissioned and ready to take her next owners anywhere in the world.
