The mark of a great boat builder is one that can take the best parts of several great offshore boats and incorporate them all into one boat. This is the boat. Built right here in North Carolina, she has the great Carolina flair of the late and great Buddy Davis, the fast hull bottom of a Formula 232 Sport Fish, and a Harkers Island gunnel line. She was designed and built to do one thing very well, to bring up big fish in the Gulf Stream. She is very good at it. She only has some trip tests on her, and she was the best that ever was.  At 25 feet, she is just the right size to trailer from tournament to tournament, big enough to run with the big dogs, fast enough with single power, yet very inexpensive to run, and has all the fishing room you could want.  Her interior is utilitarian but do you want to spend time fixing and cleaning the do-dads or fishing. She may be Spartan but so is a warship. She was built to battle big fish. Her self-bailing cockpit will keep your feet dry even when backing down on a big fish. Forward there is an elevated casting platform with storage cleverly disguised as a seat. Who would have thought!  Her console was laid up to be tough, simple, with space for a port-potty, and a ton of storage. The remarkable part is it has a hatch large enough to actually get in and out of. The helm is huge enough to flat mount two (2) Lowrance HD7 GPS/Chartplotters/Fish Finders as well as her Smartcraft gauges and a Lowrance VHF. Her Lenco trim tab controls live there as well.  This is not your everyday outboard. The builder stepped up to a Mercury ProXS 225 Optimax power with only 81 hours on her. Her hydraulic steering makes pointing her seaward a dream. The best part of this is she is under factory warranty until 7/13/2015. She runs in snotty water and bumps up against 50 mph. She has been run only in fresh water, and is waiting to be taken to the Gulf Stream where she was born to run.  This custom builder made sure she had a windlass, plenty of rocket launchers all over the place, a large transom livewell, and fish boxes to die for. She has fresh bottom paint, and sits on her own aluminum trailer. For the scuba guys (she would be a perfect dive boat) there is a dive ladder on the engine mount.  There is no downside on this rig.
