EVOLUTION YACHTS WORLDWIDE and Sharp Design NAval Architechts have teamed up to produce an exciting new concept for a 40 and 53 meter cockpit motor yacht with design styling and performance modeled on the traditional sport fisher platform. The exterior design is modeled on the proportions of the traditional sport fisher with unbroken sweeping sheer line from high bow to low stern, accentuated long foredeck and swept back superstructure. The design cues call for organic soft curves with no harsh angles on forward vessel entry planes and open view vistas facing aft. The plumb stem and enclosed swim step visually frame the sweeping hull and house lines and in addition form a full length waterline for maximization of performance within the set length envelope. The normally long slim hull form of the sport fisher style is drawn finer forward with the plumb stem making a pleasingly sharp entry. The stainless steel stem cap gives a retro look reminiscent of the early commuter yacht style which blends nicely with the organic curved art deco lines of the superstructure. Below the waterline the hull form is a deep-vee hard chine style with a higher than normal length to beam ratio than normally seen for yachts of this size, again pointing to the desired performance characteristics desired in the design. The hull features a cutaway forefoot with narrow entry smoothly faired into a long straight run of the hull planes aft to the transom. There is a very slight tuck in the waterlines running aft from the maximum beam location and very slight buttock rise angle from the maximum depth location. The clean run aft is broken only by the tunnels port and starboard, designed to accommodate the steerable Zeus drives and incorporated trim tabs. The transom below the swim step is angled forward athwartship from the centerline and raked forward as it extends downward to promote enhanced backing down performance and directional stability in reverse at speed. The sport fisher theme is further carried out with the low covering boards at the cockpit sides and corners, the large multi-chamber bait tank at the end of the cockpit, the powered fighting chairs at the swim step, full walk-around decks with unimpeded access all around to follow a fish and the three person observation bucket with clear view lines to all deck areas and around the vessel at the highest point of the yacht. The interior design also follows contemporary sport fisher design with a few twists to compliment the size of the yacht, the level of service expected for a yacht of this class and the spaces created in the styled envelope. The top deck gives a nod to lounging in the sun with open settees and the spa comforts normally found on a yacht of this size. There is plenty of deck space for sun pads if desired. The upper deck has the main piloting station with all vessel command and control equipment and wrap around windshield, Captain’s suite, small lounges inside and out and exterior day head convenient to the upper deck and observation bucket. The main deck, as for most sport fishers, features the tenders forward. But with the size and style of this yacht the tenders are enclosed in their own garage allowing for better maintenance conditions and the preservation of the unbroken profile lines. Aft of the tender garage area is the large open-plan galley and food preservation and preparation area, followed by the crew lounge and mess to port and guest day room to starboard at the head of the main companionway to the owner and guest suites below. The main access to the crew spaces is located off the crew mess on the port side. Access to the exterior main deck port and starboard is provided off the crew lounge to port and the guest day room to starboard.
