We are representatives for the builder, Pantawee Marine Co (pml) who has built these yachts since 1996 in Pattaya Thailand. Anew custom build presents a challenge since each item has to be decided on if the buyer wants a other than a standard design. Since Craig Beckwith of heritage yachts has worked with Hans Christian for over 33 years and is aware of what makes these yachts one of the finest cruisers of a traditional style that is built today. The years have proven her in every condition from hurricane to flat calm, and the 48 has handled the well.  We would love the opportunity to send you information regarding a newly built yacht.     NEW ORDER YACHT CONSTRUCTION: The hull and deck are hand laid up in accordance with approved laminates and procedures. The standard hull and deck color is off white. In the hull a combination of woven roving and chopped strand mat are used with thickness increasing towards the keel. There is a reinforcing balsa core in the topsides which stops at six inches above the waterline. Vinylester resin is used for the initial layers below the waterline. The ballast keel is encapsulated entirely within the hull molding. The deck molding has a balsa or PVC foam core which is replaced with plywood in high stress areas where fittings are attached.
