The 4000 was launched in Fall 2010 and garnered immediate accolades for comfort and advanced cruising features like its Cruise Control Rig, carbon fiber mast, all-lead bulb keel, and infused BPA epoxy composite hull and deck. On deck, the 4000’s wide side decks and molded bulwarks provide safe and secure movement fore and aft.  The cockpit is all about comfort and convenience, with twin helms that place the helmsman in a great sailing position. Tartan is known for the finest interior joiner work and creative interior arrangement plans. Below decks, the 4000 features handcrafted cherry cabinetry, an island berth and ensuite head in the dedicated owner’s stateroom, a large main cabin drop leaf dining table, and two additional cabin options. 4000 features include: 55hp diesel sail drive engine with pedestal mount single lever controls Tartan Pocket Boom of carbon fiber and epoxy composite with sail cover 3-burner Force 10 gimbaled LPG stove, convenient  storage and extensive counter space Excellent ventilation throughout with functioning stainless steel port lights, deck hatches and dorade ventilators Ballast is through-bolted to hull with cast-in-place stainless steel bolts of quality and size that exceed ABS standard for offshore use Twin wheel helms use cable-style radial steering pedestals 15-year hull structural and blister guarantee
