“O’Remington” is a schooner aurica was built using double plank construction in 1946 in the DiDonna Castelammare di Stabia yards of Italy. The first twenty years of her life were spent servicing the wine and fishery industries in the Mediterranean. In 1968 the boat was purchased by England’s Lord Remington, who converted the boat to a recreational vessel and renamed her “O’Remington” (of Remington). She became a “goletta” a type of passenger vessel known throughout the Med and the Aegean. O’Remington saw charter is Sudan for a number of years. In 1997 she was purchased and refitted by the family of stylist Roberta Ferretti. In 2004 she was bought by her current owner and completely restored from the keel up by one of the best woodworking shipyards in Europe! She has: -a new 240 Hp auxillary producing 9 knots cruise, 11 knots max -The hull was re-double plated with Azobé oak from West Africa -Internal door were replaced with oak -Bulkheads and deckhouse are new mahogany -Decks are Burma teak -The new bowsprit is pine -The new salon settees are red leather by Solimar Bozzelli Please see the photographic record of the restoration in the Photo Gallery.
