Wind Star has been extensively outfitted for passage making and meticulously maintained by her owner of Gulfstar sailmaster 39. Every single piece of equipment has been inspected, replaced if appropriate, upgraded or rebuilt. Over $100,000 has been spent on this refit to bring this vessel to its current outstanding condition. She is ready to be sailed and loved by her new owner. The Gulfstar Sailmaster 39 has one of the most spacious interiors for a sailboat under 40 feet available on the market and is considered one of the best all-around live aboard/coastal cruiser designs for a couple. She receives the highest of compliments in every port of call for her stunningly beautiful lines and stately appearance. Wind Star is a 39’7″ aft cockpit sailboat with entry to the main salon down five easy steps. A complete navigation station is situated on the starboard side just below the companionway.

The work area of Gulfstar sailmaster 39 extends almost from side to side of the vessel. On the port side is a large tool storage cabinet. The salon has large eye-level windows extending the full length of the cabin, which gives a light and airy atmosphere down below. There are permanent custom Lexan shaded panels over the windows to keep the bright sunlight to a minimum. Custom drapes accent the windows. The port side settee is L shaped and opens into a double berth. The starboard settee also opens into another double berth. Between settees is an oversized custom dining table that will easily seat 7 people. The base of the table is a double-ended custom storage cabinet. Mounted behind the starboard settee is a 17″ flat screen LG TV and JVC DVD player. Illuminated pictures, custom lamps and a half-hull model give this area a warm homey appearance. Step down one easy step and you are in the L shaped galley. A half partition separates the galley from the salon. The galley features a large S/S sink, a pot/pan storage area, several sliding door cabinets, two-burner stove with oven, large refrigerated storage box and a custom made 5 foot high by 2.5-foot cupboard next to the mast. Part of the floor is a lift-up 4 square foot hinged floor panel giving easy access to a substantial dry storage cabinet below.

The head is something special. It has a new Sealand Vacu-flush toilet system which is a pleasure to operate. Simply step on the foot panel and swish “it’s gone”. There is a large separate stand up shower with a seat and shelving, making wet storage easy. Behind this shelf is an easy access door to all of the Vacu-flush system components. There are a holding tank level indicator and indicator lights giving the status of the system. There is a good-sized vanity with round sink, medicine cabinet and large oval mirror. There is an opening S/S port in the head along with ventilation from the deck-mounted cowl vent. The master stateroom features an oversized V berth with a 6″ foam mattress with custom cabinets forward on both port and starboard sides. There is also a hanging closet, three drawers and several other spaces to store gear.

The huge roof of Gulfstar sailmaster 39 hatch gives abundant airflow on those hot nights at anchor. Ahead of the V berth is an access door to the anchor locker and base of the Ideal windless. In the cockpit is a pedestal mounted wheel, up-to-date instrumentation, full standing height bimini and dodger, remote VHF speakers, stereo speakers, shower and teak cockpit table. The custom-built aluminum radar arch is quite substantial. It carries the radar, Wind Generator, solar panel, TV antenna, and air horn. Attached to this arch is a removable set of davits with hoists which make hoisting the hard bottom dingy and easy task. There is also an outboard motor hoist on the arch.
