Designed by German Frers for Nautor’s Swan, the Swan 40 enjoyed a very successful production run from 1992 to 2000.   A total of 58 Swan 40’s were built and BLUE MOON is Hull No. 142, being commissioned for her first owner in Newport in 1996.  Fast and comfortable, the Swan 40 offers the best in performance oriented Swans in a manageable size that, like her sisterships, can also be safely cruised and raced in “offshore” conditions and can easily be managed by a couple.   Originally commissioned in Newport, Rhode Island, BLUE MOON was day sailed on the East Coast and stored under a fitted cover at Jamestown Boat Yard during the winter.   The second owner brought her to the West Coast in 2004 and it has been in a full “in-slip” boat cover when not being sailed to maintain the quality of the topsides and teak decks.  The hull is flag blue awlgrip and was applied when the boat was initially delivered.  The interior configuration is with a double berth and vanity option in aft cabin which also has the rare factory option of the extra door from chart table to aft head allowing the easy access to the aft head as a wet locker and day head from the companionway.   BLUE MOON is the first Swan 40 offered for sale on the West Coast, and is lying at Westpoint Marina in Redwood City, CA.
